You may develop a system for keeping track of new words that you encounter in your reading. However, the main growth in your vocabulary and reading skill will come just from reading as much as you can.

你可能習慣了記錄閱讀中遇到的新單詞，然而詞匯量的擴充和閱讀能力的提升只來源于盡可能廣泛的閱讀，

So learn to enjoy reading and read a lot. Keep reading, and you will become a better reader.

所以要學會享受閱讀并多讀。堅持閱讀，你就會成為更好的閱讀者。

Unfortunately not all reading is just for pleasure. When you are reading a textbook or manual, or report or other material that have to read for school or work, you may need to underline, take notes, and read some parts over again, in order to retain what you are reading. However, if you have developed the habit of reading for pleasure, you will find that the cognitive techniques you need will come naturally, and that you will understand a lot better than before.

不幸的是并非所有的閱讀都是單純為了樂趣。讀課文、指南、報告或者其他學習或工作材料時，你可能為了記住所讀材料需要劃重點、記筆記，或反復讀某些部分。然而如果你已經養成了為樂趣而閱讀的習慣，你會發現你所需要的認知技巧自然而然就形成了，你的理解能力比之前更強。
