Fluorine 氟化鈣
得名于螢石(拉丁語Fluor,原意是熔劑),化學成分是氟化鈣。
關于氟的命名,1810年的過化學家戴維與安培就曾建議用希臘單詞“Fluo”表示這個未知元素,因為"fluo"在希臘文中有“動”的含義,含氟礦物稱為螢石。遠古時代,人們在金屬冶煉過程中就知道用螢石做熔劑,螢石和礦石在一起加熱,就會使雜志生成流動性的礦渣而與金屬分離,因此將其稱為fluores,就是拉丁語“流動之意。
1813, non-metallic element, coined by English chemist Sir Humphry Davy (1778-1829) from fluorspar ("calcium fluoride," modern fluorite), the name of the mineral where it was first found, from L. fluor, originally meaning "a flowing, flow" (see fluent). The mineral name was given by Georg Agricola in 1546, translating German name flusse, so called because it melts easily.
