Agricultural Revolution
Jason B. One example of using creativity to surmount a difficult task was the Agricultural Revolution. In the seventeenth century, both England and the Netherlands faced a serious dilemma. The two countries experienced a rapidly increasing population while the availability of arable land diminished. In order to supply food to a growing population, the governments of both countries turned to brilliant innovators such as Tull. Tull used his creativity to devise more efficient methods of farming that would be practiced in Europe centuries into the future. As the British author, D. H. Lawrence, noted, "the ideas of one generation become the instincts of the next." The new ideals of one man became the basis of farming for years to come.
