June 19th, 1953 Julius and Ethel Rosenberg are executed in the electric chair at Sing Sing Prison in Ossining, New York. They were convicted of conspiring to pass U.S. atomic secrets to the Soviet Union, a case that gripped America early in the Cold War.

1910,Father's Day is celebrated for the first time in the United States in Spokane, Washington.
