So yes, a player can mean to…it can be someone who plays a game, or someone who even acts in a theater

but now it's starting to mean someone who plays with people: tricks them

Think of it as treating relationships as a game. If you just want to make people do things for you, then you might be a player

You can say someone is a player, like, if you see a friend, if he, you know, likes to trick people into doing things for them

And when people "play" you, you "get played." It means that you get tricked into doing something you wouldn't normally do

Now let's talk about etymology. Our root for today is "circ." C-I-R-C. C-I-R-C in Latin means, "a ring," or "round"

You can easily think of a word that uses this root. Yup. Circle. Of course, circles are things that are round. In the shape of a ring

Same thing with your blood. It's circulating through your body right now

And "circadian," is something that happens every 24 hours. We all have circadian rhythms, hopefully

You might see this in history books, or especially in museums

If you see an old vase from circa 1340 A.D. Then you know it's from around 1340. Get it

Circa means around this time. Around? Like a circle? So I always thought that was kind of fun

So you know circ means ring, so you're moving in a circular fashion, or you know that a time is around some time
