1.Listen and practice the following dialogue.
LiMeng is telling his sister about an announcement he heard at school.
LiMeng:Did you hear the announcenent at school?
Xiaohong:What announcemen?
LiMeng:The one about studying abroad.
Xiaohong:No?
LiMeng:It's like this.
Students like us can go abroad and study in a foreign high school.
Xiaohong:Really?But where are they going to live?
LiMeng:With a foreign family called home-stay.
Xiaohong:Home-stay?
LiMeng:Yeah.You live with a couple and you call them home-stay parents.
They will look after you and decide things for you.
Xiaohong:So we won't be alone then.
LiMeng:No.Do you want to go?

We've got to discuss the matter with mum and dad first
and see if they like the idea.

Mum:Are you sure you want to go?
LiMeng:Why not?We've been learning English and this is a good chance.
On the other hand,we'll probably miss you
and I don't know what to do if I get homesick.
Xiaohong:Give mum and dad a call.
Dad:Mm,it's easy to make phone calls now.
Xiaohong:With the new phones,we can also see each other on the screen.
Mum:That won't happen very soon,however.
Dad:What's more,you still need to learn how to look after yourselves.
LiMeng:I suppose the home-stay parents can help us.

so your dad and I can think about it.
