Unit 12 A Thief In The School?
There is a thief in this school,'
the headmaster told the pupils one day.
Yesterday,some money was stolen from Jack Lee during recess.
Was anything stolen from anyone else?'
'A paint box was stolen from my desk,' Peter said.
'A purse was stolen from my coat,' Patsy said.
'A rubber was stolen from my school bag,' John said.
'Some chocolates were stolen from my desk,' Annie said.
During recess, the children met in the playground.
'Your chocolates weren't stolen,Annie,' Peter said.
You ate them.' 'Oh,yes,'Annie said,
'I forgot.' 'And your paint box wasn't stolen,either, peter,'John said.
'You lent it to me.' 'Oh!I forgot!' Peter said.
'Your purse wasn't stolen,either,Patsy,' Annie said.
'You threw it away. It had a hole in it.'
'What about your rubber,John?'Peter said.'Was that really stolen?'
'I haven't got it,' John said.
'You've probably lost it!'the children shouted at him.

Mother:That's not very nice.
Annie:A lot of thigs were stolen during recess yesterday.
Mother:Was anything stolen from your friends?
Annie:Not really.I couldn't find my chocolates,but then I remembered I ate them.
Mother:No one could steal chocolates from you,Annie.
Annie:Why not?
Mother:Because you always eat them so quickly!
