Unit 16 Falling over the falls
第16單元 墮落瀑布
Sure lots of people had done it. The first person to do it and live was a woman in the 1800s. Well, now it was Tammy's turn. She was going to get into a barrel and be pushed from the top of Niagara Falls!
這件事的確有很多人做過，第一個做這件事又活下來的人士1800年代的意味女性。現在嘛，該輪到泰咪上場了。她即將進入一個大桶子里，然后讓人從尼加拉瀑布最上面推下去！
People from newspapers came to take her picture. Her mother and sister were there for support. A few tourists watched and some took pictures.
人們從報紙上得知此一消息，紛紛前來替她拍照。她媽媽和姐姐也在那里幫忙。有些游客在那里觀看，有些游客則在拍照。
Tammy climbed in to the barrel and looked over the 175-foot waterfall. They put on the lid and pushed her over.
泰咪爬進桶子，看著175英尺高的瀑布。他們蓋上蓋子，然后把她推了下去。
Inside the barrel Tammy knocked around like a penny in a jar. She was falling fast, and the pressure was almost too much. Water was leaking in the cracks. Tammy tried to plug her ears.
泰咪在桶子里面撞來撞去，就像罐子里的一分硬幣一樣。她墜落的速度很快，而且水壓有點過大。水從裂縫里漏了進來，外面的水聲則是大得要命，于是泰咪試著堵住耳朵。
She fell further and further, until she hit the water like a sack of rocks. The barrel sunk down into the lake at the bottom of the waterfall. Just when Tammy thought she was going to die, the barrel bounced out of the water and floated to shore.
她進一步往下墜落，最后像一袋石頭一樣打中水面。桶子在瀑布下面往湖底下沉，就在泰咪覺得自己快活不成時，桶子彈出水面漂到了岸邊。
She made it! She went over Niagara Falls and lived!
她成功了！她征服了尼加拉瀑布而活了下來！
