People use plants in many ways. For food.
人們通過很多方法利用植物。食物
There are about eighty thousand different plants in the world that people can eat.
世界上有八萬種不同的可供人們吃的植物。
But half of the world's food comes from only three plants:
但是世界上一半的食物僅來自三種植物：
rice, corn and wheat.

For shelter.

We use wood from trees to build houses and furniture.
我們用木材建造房屋，制做家具。
Tables, chairs and beds are furniture.

For medicine.

We make many medicines from plants.

Books, paper, pencils, erasers and the ink in your pen all come from plants.

We can't live without plants!
