① more than與數(shù)詞連用，意思是“多于，大于，超過”。相當于over.例如：

I’ve known him for more than 20 years. 我認識他已經(jīng)二十多年了。

② more than后面跟名詞，意為“不只是，不僅僅是”。

例如：She is more than a teacher to us, she is our friend. 他不只是教師，她還是我們的朋友。

③ more than與形容詞和分詞連用，表示“非常、十分”。

例如：She is more than beautiful. 她非常漂亮 。

④ more than與動詞連用，對動詞起著加強語氣的作用。
