There are more words to express numbers, such as
1. A couple means two of something, for example a couple of sandwiches
A couple also means two people who are dating
2. A few, a few means three of something, for example a few drinks
A few apples
3. Several, means between two and ten of something, I'm going out to get several things from the bakery
I go there several times a week.
If you don't know the number but need a lot of something you can say
A lot of something, a lot of donuts
A great deal of something, for example a great deal of sugar
