After reading an article entitled 'Cigarette Smoking and Your Health' I lit a cigarette to calm my nerves. I smoked with concentration and pleasure as I was sure that this would be my last cigarette. For a whole week I did not smoke at all and during this time, my wife suffered terribly. I had all the usual symptoms of someone giving up smoking: a bad temper and an enormous appetite. My friends kept on offering me cigarettes and cigars. They made no effort to hide their amusement whenever I produced a packet of sweets from my pocket. After seven days of this I went to a party. Everybody around me was smoking and I felt extremely uncomfortable. When my old friend Brian urged me to accept a cigarette, it was more than I could bear. I took one guiltily, lit it and smoked with satisfaction. My wife was delighted that things had returned to normal once more. Anyway, as Brian pointed out, it is the easiest thing in the world to give up smoking. He himself has done it lots of times!

1.more than 后跟數(shù)詞，相當(dāng)于over，翻譯成“……多、超過……”等，強(qiáng)調(diào)某物數(shù)量上超出某一范圍。
例句: More than 83 people were killed in the flood. 有超過83人在洪水中遇難。例句: I’ve known him for more than 20 years. 我認(rèn)識(shí)他已經(jīng)二十多年了。　　

2.more than 后跟名詞或動(dòng)名詞，相當(dāng)于over, not just, not only，表示“不只是、不僅僅是”等。

3.more than后跟動(dòng)詞、形容詞、副詞、或介詞，相當(dāng)于very, much, not only, especially，表示“不僅、十分、非常、很、更加、非但”等。

South Korea's tourism body fears a huge drop in visitors, as a diplomatic row with China starts to bite.
The Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) predicted there could be 4.7 million fewer foreign tourists this year than in 2016 - a drop of about 27%.
China has banned travel agencies from selling package tours to Korea in protest at Seoul allowing a US missile defence system.
Visitors from China made up 46.8% of tourists in South Korea last year.
'Long-term depression'
Tourist numbers into South Korea saw double digit growth in the first two months of the year, the KTO said, but have declined every month since then.
May was particularly bad, with arrivals falling 34.5% against a year ago, and dropping below a million for the first time since the MERS epidemic in mid-2015.
"With the current trend, South Korea's tourism industry could enter a long-term depression," an unnamed KTO official told Yonhap.

The group tour ban came into force after the US military started to deploy the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system in South Korea.
While supposed to guard against North Korea's shorter-range missiles, it has drawn criticism from China, which claims the powerful radar can probe deep into its territory.
Although the US insists it's a purely defensive weapon, China says it undermines regional security.
