均含有“動(dòng)作或行為"的意思。
act 強(qiáng)調(diào)動(dòng)作的結(jié)果, 指單一的和個(gè)人的動(dòng)作, 適用于個(gè)人力量可以完成的事, 一般屬暫時(shí)性的, 如:
No act of kindness is ever wasted.
action 強(qiáng)調(diào)動(dòng)作的方式和歷程, 而且指比較復(fù)雜的動(dòng)作, 需要較長時(shí)間才能完成的事
還應(yīng)注意在機(jī)械和物理用語中,不能用act, 要用action, 如:the action of heat 熱的作用;反之,在an act of kindness一語中, 若改為an action of kindness也是錯(cuò)誤的。這里強(qiáng)調(diào)行為的結(jié)果和單一性。
