The sixth side, made of a thinner sheet of wood, would be used as the striking surface, or more commonly known as the tapa. A sound hole was also cut into the back to allow the sound to escape.
第6個面是比較薄的木片做的，用來作為打擊面，或者更常用的稱呼叫做"tapa"(鼓面)。在鼓的背面有割出一個聲孔，好讓聲音可以釋放出來。
