hype是“大肆宣傳，炒作”的意思，通常用作名詞，

例如：The public are not fooled by all the hype the press gave the event.
新聞界言過其實(shí)的種種報(bào)道并沒有愚弄得了公眾。

這里的hype up是一個(gè)詞組，意思是“使 ... 熱烈起來”，

例如：She was so hyped up about his son's mischief that some feared she might blow all the fuses.
