中國(guó)常駐聯(lián)合國(guó)代表李保東31日說(shuō)，為進(jìn)一步幫助海地人民開展災(zāi)后重建工作，中國(guó)政府決定再向海地政府提供1000萬(wàn)元人民幣（約合147萬(wàn)美元）無(wú)償援助。美國(guó)國(guó)務(wù)卿希拉里在發(fā)言中說(shuō)，美國(guó)將為海地提供11.5億美元資金，用于幫助海地政府加強(qiáng)農(nóng)業(yè)、能源、衛(wèi)生、安全和政府管理等方面的建設(shè)。

在上面的報(bào)道中，post-disaster reconstruction就是“災(zāi)后重建”。Reconstruction的意思是“重建，改造，復(fù)原”。例如：The reconstruction of the Town Hall is scheduled to start next month.（市政廳的重建計(jì)劃于下月開始。）又如：postwar reconstruction（戰(zhàn)后重建）。

在海地大地震發(fā)生后，許多國(guó)家派出了rescue team（救援小組），提供了包括rescue and medical equipment（救災(zāi)和醫(yī)療設(shè)備）、emergency personnel（緊急救援人員）在內(nèi)的humanitarian relief（人道主義援助）。在quake-stricken area（地震災(zāi)區(qū)）搭建了makeshift hospital（臨時(shí)醫(yī)院）和makeshift shelter（簡(jiǎn)易過(guò)渡房）幫助受災(zāi)人民度過(guò)難關(guān)。
