英語問路
1.Keep going 50 yards before you come to a fork road. 繼續(xù)走 50 碼, 直到你走到一個三叉路口.
繼續(xù)往下走可以用 keep going 這個字, 或是 continue straight 或是 keep straight 也很常用. Fork road 就是我們說的三叉路口. 那如果是丁字路口要怎么說? 你可以說, This road will dead end into 10th Street. 就可以表達(dá)出丁字路口的意思了.
2. Make a right, pass two stop signs and you will run into a Wal Mart. 向右轉(zhuǎn), 經(jīng)過二個 Stop sign, 你就會遇到 Wal Mart.
You’ll run into it! 意思就是, 我會遇到的. 他們也喜歡這么說, You can’t miss it! 就是說, 你絕不會錯過的.
3. The post office is just right across the street of it. 郵局就在 Wal Mart的正對面.
個人覺的 Right across the street of it 是個很重要的片語, 加上 "right" across 表示出 "正" 對面的意思. 還有一個很常用的就是在什么什么的旁邊, 這個要用 The office is next to it. It 代表之前已經(jīng)提過的 Wal Mart, 如果之前沒有提及, 這里也可以直接說成, across the street of Wal Mart.
4. Mr. Yang’s house is behind the post office. 楊先生的房子就在郵局后面.
有一次也是有一個老美路我問路, 由于那個地方不是很遠(yuǎn), 我就用手指這那里說, It’s over there. 可是事實(shí)上那里是被一棟建筑物給擋住了, 所以老美就反問我, Behind this building? 所以我就知道我應(yīng)該說成 It’s behind this building 會來得比較好些.
