Joan: Just a moment, please. I'll check for you.

alright=all right 是非正式用法，意思是：好，是，對，一切正常。用來表示滿意或贊
同。
如： Do you feel alright? 你感覺還好嗎？
Is it alright with you? 這對你方便嗎？
Just a moment 是口語表達。意思是：稍候片刻。同just a second.

Notes:
arrange for 是習慣用語，意思是：安排，準備
I'm afraid not 較為客氣的口語表達方式.用來委婉的否定。糾正和駁斥對方。
如：
Can you finish the work tomorrow?你明天能完成這項工作嗎？
I'm afraid not.(我想）恐怕不能。
not ...until ... 是連用結構。意思是‘到...時， 才.....’
