Mr. Lee: I’m so sorry to call you on such short notice, but something’s come up.
對(duì)不起臨時(shí)給你打電話(huà)，但是我有急事。
Mr. Jones: You mean for this afternoon’s meeting?
你是說(shuō)今天下午不能來(lái)了？
Mr. Lee: That’s right I’m afraid I have to postpone it.

Mr. Scott got sick and I have to attend the Speechmaker’s Symposium in his place.
Scott先生生病了，我要替他去參加研討會(huì)。
I’m leaving today, and I won’t be back until a week from Friday.

Mr. Jones: That’s quite a while. Let’s make it the week after you get back, then.

Mr. Jones: No problem at all. To tell you the truth, I could use the extra time in my schedule to catch up on some paperwork.
