　　To become mighty country in terms of sports events is what many nations aspire after. That is reason why numerous countries are keen on cultivating elite sportsman. However, conflicting ideas clash in determining whether or not to foster professional sportsman is superior to proffering sports facilities for common people. Personally speaking, the merits of zeroing in on the cultivation of athletes outweigh its demerits, although popularizing sports facilities is never without its virtues. (73)

The possible profit generated by the sale of TV rights, accommodations, ticket sales and visitor expenditure could generate immense economic value. Also, the triumph of professional athletes, to some extent, equals to the achievement of sports events career, which could fire people’s enthusiasm of building up bodies and thus enhance the basic quality of a nation’s population. Last, the self-made spirit of those sportsmen’s has a key role to play in educating and inspiring the general public. For instance, I am often strongly inspired by athletes’ relentless pursuit of perfection and ceaseless self-improvement. (142)
