第一段說 ambergris這個東西很久以前就有了，然后說ambergris的用途有 for medicine， spice，用來制作perfume 什么的等等（有題，matching） 然后說但是人們不知道它是從哪里來的，再就是說在古代it worth in weight in gold，當然是貴了。

第二段說 以前人們一直把ambergris和amber當作一種東西。但是有個叫Dick的作者 寫了一本書 講了這兩個東西的區別（有題，matching）說ambergris 通常發現在海面或者shore，但是仍然不知道是從哪里來的。Amber是一種什么東西，與松樹pine有關，然后說了amber的一些特性 hard，transparent，等等，用來做裝飾品，頭飾什么的，同樣 very costly。（有題，matching）

第三段說ambergris是與sperm whale的intestine腸子里的消化digest 某種東西有關。以為intestine會有題，結果沒有，提到了馬可波羅，好像與這個發現有關（沒題，當笑話好了）

第四段就是具體describe ambergris的產生過程了。（summary 題）大意是，sperm whale吃一種東西 叫 beaks of squalid，腸子就有助消化，但是不能完全消化，就轉化成了另一種東西，應該是體內的垃圾。這種垃圾是soft的，會被sperm whale 嘔吐出來 be vomited up。然后這種東西遇到空氣就會變硬 harden，于是就形成了 ambergris了，也解釋了為什么ambergris總在海面和shore被發現。

第五段 說人們為了獲得ambergris而捕殺sperm whale 導致了瀕臨滅絕。給了一個數據 說in 20th century， 90% ambergris was made in the processing of killing sperm whale。（有題， TFNG）ambergris was still the most expensive product in the whole body of sperm whale，大意是這樣的。 于是人們就開始采取措施保護sperm whale， 在工業生產中采用了很多ambergris的替代品，例如香水制造業中就用了某種東西，代替了ambergris。

第六段 說 sperm whale的數量會有recover的那么一天，沒題。
