5. Are there any people around you who don't accept new technology?

總有一些人不支持新技術，甚至持全盤否定態度，這些人通常是思想比較保守的老年人。上一道題中我們分析了年輕人過分依賴新技術，這一道題不僅要指出是哪些人群不接受新技術，還要分析原因。

Candidate 1: As far as I know, most people around me accept new technology.

They think new technologies bring the most conveniences, comforts and possessions, which satisfy all kinds of our demands. "New technologies are greatly helpful for our well-being." they said.

However, there are some other people who don't accept that completely. "If people rely on the new technology more an d more, the humanity will be destroyed one day." Those who don't accept new technology said.

In their opinion, new technologies bring in not only many conveniences, but also lots of problems which lead the humanity to a more difficult position.

They cause environmental pollution and ecological damage. New technologies make mankind get far away from nature, and cause the interpersonal relationship to be getting more and more indifferent, which makes individuals to be more isolated.

Candidate 2: With the development of new technology, our life is becoming more and more convenient. However, there are still quantities of people who do not accept new technology.

On one hand, many of the poor live such a miserable life that they have no chance to contact diverse new technological products. On the other hand, lots of old people are old-fashioned. Consequently, they reject new technology from the bottom of their hearts.

As is often the case, conservation people still follow the traditions. For instance, a great number of writers attach importance to the old way which we keep track of, such as writing letters on paper. They do not accept the development. Instead, they insist that new technology has changed nature of man. As far as they are concerned, we have become more and more indifferent with laziness.

In my opinion, we ought to make full use of new technology. Perhaps only in this way can we lead a life of high quality.

Candidate 1認為人類過分依賴新科技，有些技術不僅會造成環境的污染與生態的破壞，而且會使得個人處于越來越孤立的狀態，人際關系從此變得越來越冷漠，從而使人類處于不利的境地；Candidate 2重點列舉了兩類人不支持新技術，一類是無購買能力的貧困群體，另一類是思想比較保守的老年人。這些人認為，新技術會使我們變得越來越懶惰和冷漠。
