3. What kind of advertisements do you like best?

廣告千變萬化，考生可以選擇的范圍自然也非常廣泛。然而選擇的廣告取決于考生的智慧。花哨的廣告自然吸引觀眾，但是缺乏深度。有社會意義的廣告和頗具諷刺性的廣告能夠迎合考官的心理。但是無論何種類型的廣告只要自圓其說即可。這道題目考生不僅要回答是什么類型的廣告，更重要的是指出為什么會喜歡，即此類廣告有什么吸引人的不同之處。

Candidate 1: Today, we live in a modern society bombarded(炮擊，轟炸) with a multitude(許多，大量) of advertisements. Most people turn to advertising about name-brand(名牌產品) items to keep themselves in fashion. And every corner in the world is covered with them. However, public service advertisements can draw my attention more. I like them best. It may relate to issues on environmental protection, love, health, culture and so on. All of the problems deeply attract the public's attention. Seeing them, I don't have to worry about being misled into poor quality products while I can be better educated to improve my sense of social responsibility. Through them, I know, there are a lot we could do for the earth, for the human beings, for the community, and for ourselves.

Candidate 1首先指明了當今社會存在各種各樣的廣告，人們趨之若鶩，追逐時尚。However一詞轉折出作者的觀點；公益廣告是最愛。然后Candidate 1指出了公益廣告的內容，接著說明為什么喜歡公益廣告，即增強自己的社會責任感，意識到大家應該為社會、為人類多做貢獻。文章雖然短卻很有深度和社會意義。

Candidate 2: I like the advertisements that tell us the truth, because only when the products live up to the benefits as the advertisements promise do I regard them as good ones.

I have two reasons for my point. Firstly, advertisements should provide us with useful information which is not deceptive(欺騙性的) so that customers can use their products safely. Secondly, customers are inclined to(傾向于，易于) buy the products that have good brands and high quality. Advertisers usually advertise for the brands and quality of their products. I will feel good when the products live up to the promised benefits and I would like to see the advertisements next time, because I can benefit from them. If I was cheated by the advertisements, I would think they are offensive and I would not buy their products. I don't want to be the victim(受害者).

In my opinion, good advertisements are always the honest ones, which I like best.

Candidate 2并沒有明確指出自己喜歡哪一種廣告，而是非常坦誠，直言自己喜歡那些“真實的不說謊的”廣告，立意可謂別出心裁。然后分別從廣告本身和消費者兩個方面論述，目的都是為了說明我們需要的是符合產品本身事實的廣告。感受Candidate 2性格非常率真爽直，直言自己如果受到了欺騙，會感到受到了冒犯，高呼自己不愿成為受害者，從側面揭示了虛假廣告給大眾帶來的負面影響。

4. Where do people usually read the newspapers and magazines?

讀書可以在任何地方，隨著不同的人不同的心情變化。考生自己可選取的范圍也比較寬泛。關鍵是能夠有理有據、自圓其說。題目考查考生的思路是否開闊、視角是否新穎。還是如此，這道題目不僅要回答在哪里還要說明在那里的原因。
