[00:-2.00]Steven Spielberg, whose mother was a music teacher,
[00:-3.00]was born in 1946 in a small town in America.
[00:-4.00]He started making short films when he was still a young boy.
[00:-5.00]He made hkis first real film when he was twelve.
[00:-6.00]This was a film in which Spielberg used real actors instead of toys.
[00:-7.00]He wrote the seripts for the films himself.
[00:-8.00]In 1959 Spielberg won prize for a short film which he made when he was thirteen years old.
[00:-9.00]A few years later, when he was sixteen,he made a film called Firelight.

[00:11.00]his dream was to go to the Film Academy, but he couldn't.
[00:12.00]The reason why he could not go there was that his grades were too low.
[00:13.00]After studying English, he got a small job at a film studio.

[00:30.00]Jurassic Park, which Spielberg made in 1993,
[00:31.00]is about a park where a very rich man keeps different kinds of dinosaurs.
[00:32.00]When the park is hit by a storm, things start going wrong.
[00:33.00]The film becomes very exeiting when the children are hunted by meat-eating dinosaurs.
[00:34.00]After these highly successful films Spielberg made several follow-ups of Jaws and Jurassic Park.
[00:35.00]His later films such as Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan
[00:36.00]are about the cruelty of war.
[00:37.00]In his war films,he has shown that love and peace will win over war in the end.
[00:38.00]Stven Spielberg is one the top directors in the film industry and also has many fans in China.

[00:40.00]Steven Spielberg said that he owes much of his success and happiness
[00:41.00]to his wife and children.
[00:42.00]He met Cate Capshaw, who is an actress,
[00:43.00]when he was working on one of his films.
[00:44.00]After that it still took seven years before they finally got married.
[00:45.00]The couple has seven chikdren in all.
