Lesson 48 Garbage Is Interesting!
第48課 垃圾很有趣！
This week we learned about pollution.
這周我們了解污染。
I never knew that garbage was so interesting!
我從不知道垃圾也這么有趣！
On Tuesday,it was World Environment Day.
星期二是世界環(huán)境日。
Danny,Brian and I cleaned up the schoolyard.
我和丹尼、布萊恩打掃了校園。
All of our classmates helped.
班上所有的同學都幫忙了。
We took bags and picked up the garbage.
我們拿著袋子撿垃圾。
It was great to see everyone working together!
看著所有人一起工作真是太棒了！
Later that day,Brian,Danny and I went for a walk around our neighbourhood.
那天晚些時候，我和布萊恩還有丹尼在我們家附近散步。
When we saw garbage, we picked it up.
當我們看見垃圾，我們就撿起來。
Danny found a used toy car with one broken wheel.
丹尼找到了一輛壞了一個輪子的二手玩具汽車。
He took it home,cleaned it and fixed it.
他帶回家，清理干凈并修好了。
On Wednesday,we sorted our school's garbage.
星期三，我們將學校的垃圾進行分類。
We put on gloves and divided the garbage into different piles:glass,metal,plastic, paper and everything else.
我們帶上手套，將垃圾分成不同堆：玻璃、金屬、塑料、紙和其他。
Most of the garbage was paper.
大多數(shù)垃圾都是紙。
People wasted a lot of paper!
人們浪費了太多的紙！
There was less plastic than paper and more plastic than metal.
塑料比紙要少些。金屬比塑料少。
There was the least amount of glass.
最少的是玻璃。
Today,Danny made a car out of garbage!
今天，丹尼用垃圾做成了一輛汽車！
He used a big box for the body and pieces of wood for the seats.
他使用了一個大箱子作為主體，幾塊木頭作為座椅。
He used a bit of glue to put the wheels on.
他使用了一點膠水將輪子粘上。
The wheels were plastic lids.
輪子是塑料瓶蓋。
It was great!
非常棒！
We throw garbage away.
我們將垃圾扔了。
But where does it go?
但是垃圾去哪兒了？
Later this month,we will go on a class trip to the city recycling centre.
這個月晚些時候，我們班級旅行會去市回收中心。
Thousands of tons of garbage are sent there.
那兒有幾千噸的垃圾。
We will see the workers sort all of our garbage for recycling.
我們將會看見工人將我們的垃圾分類以便回收。
I think it's our duty to protect the environment.
我認為保護環(huán)境是我們的職責。
I am only one person,but if I do my part,
我只是一個人，但是如果我做好了自己的分內(nèi)事，
the earth will be a cleaner and safer place.

If each of us does something for the environment,all of us will have a better life.
如果我們每個人為環(huán)境做些事，所有人將會過得更好。
