not to speak of為“不用說”，相當(dāng)于not to mention。但是二者并不完全一樣:not to mention后面可以接句子，而not to speak of后面只能接名詞或名詞性短語。如:

※ We're too busy to take a long holiday this year, not to mention the fact that we can't afford it.我們今年太忙，不能去度長假，更何況我們也出不起這筆錢。

※ The boy hasn't learned arithmetic, not to speak of algebra.這孩子算術(shù)還沒學(xué)會，更別說代數(shù)了。

與not to speak of和not to mention含義相近的短語還有much less，但是much less只能修飾帶否定含義的句子，而not to mention則沒有這個限制。如:
