第23單元 朋友
Friends are among the most valuable assets one can possess.
朋友是一個人所能擁有的最重要的財產之一。
I am a very lucky person because I have many close friends.
我是個非常幸運的人，因為我有許多要好的朋友。
They are very important to me. Whenever I feel down, they will try to cheer me up.
他們對我而言非常重要。每逢我感到沮喪時，他們總會設法逗我開心。
And when I am in trouble, they never fail to offer me help.
我有麻煩時，他們一定會幫助我。
Even when I am happy, it makes me feel good to share my happiness with them.
我快樂時，與他們分享我的快樂也會令我覺得很愉快。
My teacher once said, "We are all social animals."
我的老師曾說:“我們都是群居的動物。”
How right he is! Can you imagine what life would be like without friends?
他說得真好，你能想象沒有朋友的人生會是什么樣子嗎?
It would be boring beyond words.
那將會無聊得難以形容。
There is one thing I have to say, though.

I choose my friends very carefully.

This is because bosom friends are hard to find while fair-weather friends can be found by the dozens.
