tele-表示“遠”
telegraph n.電報機；發電報 vt.給某人發電報
[根]tele-表示“遠”，比如telephone就是跟遠處的人說話要用到的設備。似“他（te）離（le）”，他離開了，去了遠方。
[記]給遠方(tele）的人寫（graph）信，在沒有電子郵件之前最便捷的方法就是發電報(tele-graph)，用電報機（telegraph)打字。

[辨]telegraph和telegram誰是電報機，誰是電報呢？要看它們倆的詞尾。-ph發音似“服”，所以服務于電報的是電報機；而-m可以想成“秘密”，發出去的秘密是電報文字本身。
[例]0ne hundred years ago, when people had emergency and they wanted to tell their friends, the rich would choose to send message by telegraph，though the telegram had a limitation of words.一百年前，當人們有緊急情況要告訴朋友時，富人會選擇發電報。盡管電報本身是有字數限制的。

program n.計劃；大綱；節目；程序 vt.編程；編排；安排
[記]pro-往前：gram-寫。計劃就是要往前寫以后的事。計劃要有一個大綱；電視的大綱就是節目；電腦系統的計劃就是它的程序；這些都是被編排、安排好的。
[注]亦可以寫成programme。它的分詞是programmed，表示“被編排，被安排去”……
[例]Death is normal; we are genetically（基因角度的）programmed to disintegrate and perish,even under ideal conditions．死亡是正常的事情，我們被基因安排了終會灰飛煙滅，不管在多么理想的情況下也不會例外。
