從2013年6月英語四級考試開始，作文題型的命題特點向考研[微博]作文出題方式靠攏。這預示著國家希望更多的準研究生英語方面的能力能達到四級水平，使四級考試和考研考試有個流暢的過度和銜接，充分將考研寫作與四級寫作結合，不同之處在于四級寫作字數少，難度上低于考研寫作。
　　例如：
　　2013年6月四級考試作文漫畫簡述：一個老師在黑板上教數學乘法口訣，如：2X2=4 2x3=6 ……學生在聽課，其中一個學生說：no offense, by the time in the job market, it is out of dated. 以此作文。首先簡要描述，然后就the importance of learning basic skill 寫一篇more than 120 words but not more than 180 words. (30 minutes)圖畫反映的主題：大學生在校從商，創業，好不好？是學業重要，還是社會經歷重要？

　　Nowadays, college students going in for business become more and more popular in campus, even many college students think that is very fashionable. As to this trend, different people have different views.
　　For me, every coin has two sides, thus college students going in for business has advantages as well as disadvantages, but advantages outweigh the disadvantages. As a college student, I think taking part in business when we still in college has following advantages. Firstly, doing business can develop our communication and management abilities. 　　四級作文評分標準(五級評分制)：
　　①本題所占卷面總分值15%。
　　②閱卷標準分為五等：
　　以2為首項，公差為3的等差數列。
　　公式為An=A1+(n-1)×3
　　2分，5分，8分，11分，和14分。
