　　辨析able capable competent
　　這是三個意思相近的形容詞.
　　①able能夠的，能干的。做定語用，指某人有知識，才干。“能干”的意味比capable強。做表語用，指人具有才智，強調不但聰明，而且受過實際鍛煉，有做某事的足夠的能力。多指暫時現(xiàn)象。He is an able leader.他是個能干的領導人。常見用法：be able to do sth.能夠做某事。
　　②capable有能力的，有才能的，能干的。通常指這種能力達到一般要求，意味比able弱。可用于褒貶，多指經(jīng)常具有的能力。She is capable of teaching English.她能教英語。
　　③competent 表示掌握了專門的知識和技能因而具備完成某項任務的能力，強調符合條件，能夠勝任，有“合格的”意思。a competent typist一個合格的打字員。
　　④able的反義詞是unable,而capable的反義詞是incapable.
