Premier Li Keqiang says China will give priority to providing COVID-19 vaccines to Mekong countries once a vaccine is developed and put into use.
He made the remarks when attending the third Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) leaders' meeting via video link.
He says China will set up special funds to promote public health under the framework of the LMC Special Fund, and continue to provide anti-epidemic materials and technical support to Mekong countries.
He adds China is willing to work with Mekong countries to support the work of the World Health Organization.
Initiated by China in 2014, the LMC consists of six countries, namely China, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam.
The Lancang River originates on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in southwest China. It is called the Mekong River as it flows through the other five countries before emptying into the sea.
The major public areas of two international airports in Shanghai will get full 5G network coverage before the third China International Import Expo kicks off in November.
Shanghai Airport Authority has signed an agreement with the country's four major telecom firms to boost the development of 5G network and applications at Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport.

He could become the first person in New Zealand to be sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
