The remarks come after Huawei has been given the green light to build a research and development facility near Cambridge.
Paul Harrison, head of Huawei UK's international media department, described the decision as a win-win deal for Britain and Huawei.
"It's great news for Huawei in the UK and is great news for Huawei globally. There is also great news for the UK as well because we're investing 1 billion pounds into the research and development campus. And of course, this is Phase One. And so we're really pleased that we are also able to announce that we will have around 400 jobs in Cambridge as well."
He adds the new site will be used to develop and manufacture semiconductor technology aimed at speeding up data transmission.
