In a footnote in President Donald Trump's annual financial disclosure report, he says he reimbursed personal attorney Michael Cohen for as much as 250,000 dollars last year. No mention was made of 130,000 dollar payment to porn star Stormy Daniels as hush money for an alleged affair.
Thousands of teachers gathered in North Carolina's capital to demand better pay and more resources for public schools. Teachers from around the state wore red and marched to the capital building.
In the West Bank, Palestinians threw stones at Israeli soldiers who shot tear gas at them near a checkpoint. The clashes took place after days of protest as Palestinians marked the 70th anniversary of the Nakba, a reference to the uprooting of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who fled or were expelled during the 1948 war surrounding Israel's creation.
Hawaii's erupting Kilauea volcano continued to cause havoc, as authorities reported that ash plume from within the summit crater has risen as high as 12,000 feet above sea level. Ash has been wafting continuously from a vent in the crater reported as far as 18 miles away.
