Reporters pushed back against charges of fake news from White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer:
(Spicer) “The problem is, is that I think the President, to the question, gets frustrated when he sees fake stories get published things that aren’t based in fact.”
Spicer cited an erroneous tweet, suggesting the President wasn’t listening to a translation during last week’s foreign trip and anonymously sourced stories:
(Spicer) “About things that are happening, that don’t ultimately happen and I think that’s troubling. Thank you guys very much.”
Ahead of the briefing, White House communications director Michael Dubke announced his plans to leave the job.
