Mariano Rajoy's Popular Party wins general elections in Spain
Mariano Rajoy is now set to become Spain's next Prime Minister.
Rajoy's Popular Party has taken a commanding 186-seats in Spain's 350 seat parliament, giving his party a majority.
Garnering around 44.5-percent of the vote, the center-right Popular Party has handed a stunning defeat to the former ruling Socialist Party, which only managed to secure 110-seats in parliament.

Violent protest in Cairo ahead of next week's elections
The death toll from two days of violent clashes in Egypt now stands at 10.
Close to a thousand others have been hurt in the unrest.
The protests broke out in Cairo over the weekend, as demonstrators took to the streets against the ruling military council.
The protesters say they fear Egypt's military rulers are trying to retain their grip on power as they oversee a transition to civilian rule.
"There is only one demand, and we will not leave until it's met. And that is the transfer of power from military to civilian rule. We do not want military rule any longer."
The massive protests come a week ahead of the country's planned parliamentary elections.

Libya's interim government says Saif al-Islam will not be handed over to the International Criminal Court.
Instead, Libyan Justice Minister Mohammed Al Elagi says the now-captured son of former leader Muammar Gaddafi will receive a fair trial in Libya.
ICC chief prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo is however still set to visit Libya to request Saif al-Islam's extradition to the Hague.
Ocampo says national governments maintain the first right to try their own citizens for war crimes, but says his goal is to ensure a 'fair trial'.

However, the Syrian government says the plan compromises its sovereignty.
Muallem says that while his country does accept the Arab League plan, they still want minor amendments to safeguard Syrian sovereignty.

Local authorities in Karachi say more people would have been hurt, had the bomb not gone off during an intermission in the film.
So far there has been no claim of responsibility for the attack.
And while al-Qaeda attacks do take place from time to time in Karachi, the city is also a hot-bed of organized crime in Pakistan.
