　　冒號進行解釋說明，前后兩個分句是同義關系，但是由于否定詞語“nothing”的存在表示對相關詞語的取反，后面對于新建筑特點的描述，說明其特點是“baroque”，則前一句中對于建筑物特點的描述即blank(ii)為“not baroque”。

　　Blank(iii)所應該填入的詞語是一個形容詞，對于style進行修飾，style發現后面還有一個定語從句，因而直接選取與定語從句相同的意思即可。

　　定語從句中“as declamatory as a task-force report and as self-regarding as a campaign speech”，對于“task-force report”作為“專家組報告”，其正面特點是“declamatory”;對于“campaign speech”作為“競選演說”，其正面特點是“self-regarding”，即“concerned with oneself or one's own interests”。因此說，整個定語從句都在重申某一事物的正面特征。而這座新建筑的風格特點是baroque，故在blank(iii)中也可以填入baroque的同義詞。
