Chinese scientist Yuan Longping, renowned for developing the first hybrid rice strain that pulled countless people out of hunger, died of illness at 91 on Saturday.
中國科學家袁隆平于周六因疾病去世，享年91歲。他曾研發出首批雜交水稻品種，讓無數百姓擺脫饑餓。
