Eating is always a learning
experience in a new culture.
I must put in a few words
about my experience here in China.
If I have dinner with a Chinese host,
he always presses more food
onto my plate as soon as
I have emptied it of the previous helping.
and I have to eat the food even if I don't feel like it,
because it is considered bad manners
in the west to leave one's food on the plate.

這里我得先講一講自己在中國(guó)的經(jīng)驗(yàn)。
倘若我與中國(guó)主人一起用餐,
我剛吃完前一次夾給我的菜,
他總是馬上又在我的碟子里堆上更多的菜。
這常常使我感到尷尬,
即使是我不愿吃的食物,我也得吃。
