A new patent application was recently discovered that shows the Apple AirPods case transformed into a wireless charging station for not only AirPods, but potentially much more.

The wording of the patent feels intentionally broad, but does imply that Apple devices such as the Apple Watch and iPhone 8 could take advantage of wireless charging using the AirPod case.

Apple has been intentionally vague about whether the iPhone 8 is going to feature wireless charging, and while this is no guarantee, this patent application does show that the Cupertino-based company is at least thinking about it.
