Baby Born From Frozen Ovary Tissue
冷凍卵巢組織誕生出男嬰
A young woman from Dubai has given birth to a healthy baby boy with the help of ovarian tissue frozen in childhood. At nine years old Moaza Al Matrooshi had her right ovary removed and frozen before undergoing chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant in London. Her mother had asked doctors to take this step in order to give her daughter a future chance at motherhood. The now 24 year old had been infertile until surgeons in Denmark unfroze the tissue and transplanted slivers of it onto her failed left ovary. She began ovulating soon after the surgery. Al Matrooshi became pregnant after a successful round of IVF treatment with her husband.
