Chapter Eight Fire!
第八章 午夜起大火
Suddenly the decorations on the wall start moving!
突然，墻上的裝飾品開始動了。
The bats are flying around the room.
蝙蝠在房間到處飛。
They are making strange noises.
它們發(fā)出奇怪的聲音。
"No!" screams a girl. "There's a bat in my hair."
“不！”一個女孩尖叫到。“ 我頭發(fā)上有一只蝙蝠。”
"Help!" screams a boy. "This bat is a vampire!"
“救命！”一個男孩尖聲喊著。“這只蝙蝠是吸血鬼！”
Slowly the ghosts enter the house.
鬼慢慢地進入了屋子。
They penetrate the walls.
它們穿過墻。
They are really spooky.
它們真的令人毛骨悚然。
They move around their victims.
在它們的犧牲品周圍轉(zhuǎn)著。
Megan and Susan are terrified and say, "They're waiting for midnight!
梅格恩和蘇珊恐懼地說，“它們在等午夜的到來！
Do you remember the twenty names on the floor? These are their ghosts!"
你還記得在地板上的20個名字嗎？這些名字就是這些鬼的！”
"We must find Kelly," says Megan.
“我們得找到凱麗，”梅格恩說。
A candle on the table falls.
桌上的蠟燭倒了。
The paper tablecloth is burning.
紙桌布燃起來了。
"Fire! We must get out of here!" says Bill.
“著火了！我們得從這里出去！”比爾說。
"Oh, no! It's a big fire!" says Susan.
“哦，不！好大的火！”蘇珊說。
"We can't open the door," says Nick. "It's five to midnight. At midnight the ghosts take our bodies. What can we do?"
“我們打不開門，”尼克說。“還有五分鐘就午夜了。午夜的時候，鬼會取走我們的身體。我們該怎么辦？”
"I must find Kelly," says Bill.
“我得找到凱麗，”比爾說。
He takes his torch and runs to the basement.
他帶上他的手電筒，跑到地下室去了。
He looks in all the barrels.
他翻看了所有的桶。
Finally he sees Kelly. She is sleeping.
最后找到了凱麗。她睡著了。
"Kelly, Kelly!" says Bill. "Wake up! Wake up!"
“凱麗，凱麗！”比爾說。“醒醒！醒醒！”
Kelly does not wake up.
凱麗沒有醒來。
"Kelly!" says Bill. "Kelly!"
“凱麗！”比爾說。“凱麗！”
Bill takes Kelly in his arms and carries her upstairs.
比爾用手臂扛著凱麗上樓去了。
It's two minutes to midnight.
還有兩分鐘就到午夜了。
There is fire everywhere. The room is full of black smoke.
火向四處蔓延。房間充滿濃濃的黑煙。
Everyone is terrified.
所有人都很恐懼。
Bats and spiders are flying in the air.
蝙蝠和蜘蛛在空中飛。
The ghosts are waiting for midnight.
這些鬼在等待午夜的到來。
No one can open the door or the windows.
沒人能打開門或窗戶。
Suddenly the portrait is burning.
突然，那幅肖像燃起來了。
The fire is destroying the evil spirit.
大火摧毀了惡魔。
"Look!" exclaims Megan. "Abigail Cross is burning!"
“看！”梅格恩驚嘆到。“阿比蓋爾·克勞斯著火了！”
"Yes," says Nick, "and the other ghosts are burning too!"
“是的，”尼克說，“其它鬼也燃燒起來了！”
"Look, the door is opening," says Bill. "Quick, let's go!"
“看，門開了，”比爾說。“快，我們走！”
Everyone runs outside.
所有人都跑向了外面。
