A snail crossing the road was run over by a turtle. Later at the hospital he regained consciousness and was asked what happened. "It happened so fast I can’t remember," the snail replied.

Notes:

一只正在過馬路的蝸牛被一只烏龜碾過。

后來在醫院蝸牛恢復了意識，被問起發生了什么事。

“失去意識”用lose consciousness,表達“恢復意識”的動詞可以用recover或regain。

3. "It happened so fast I can’t remember," the snail replied.
蝸牛因“發生得大快.我不記得了。”

fast的后面省略了一個that,這個句型已在前面出現多次，即“so...(that)...”(如此······以致于······）。
從人類的角度來看，烏龜的動作是很慢的；但是在蝸牛看來，烏龜就很快。所以有人說：“世界上沒有絕對的真理， 只有相對的真理。”
