Hubei province, recently cancelled the women's 3-thousand-meter race and the men's 5-thousand-meter race at its university games.
位于湖北省武漢的華中科技大學近日取消了該校運動項目中的女子3000米賽和男子5000米賽。
Prior to this, many colleges in Beijing, Nanjing and Xi'an also cancelled their long-distance races. One university official says it's because many students lack the stamina to finish the demanding course and ill-prepared runners could suffer injury or even death after the intense physical activity.
