21 by British pop singer Adele has become the first album to sell one million copies in 2011. With an additional 88,000 sold last week, 21 climbs back into the Number One spot on the Billboard 200. It has spent a total of three non- consecutive weeks in the top spot.
英國流行歌手愛黛爾的最新專輯《21》成為今年第一張銷量過百萬的專輯，上周又是熱賣了88,000張，使得這張專輯又重返音樂榜單榜首。
Adele released her second studio album, 21, on 24 January 2011 in the UK and the album is described as country music. The change in style from her first album was the result of her bus driver who was playing contemporary Nashville music when she was touring the American South. In explaining the title choice, she states that it reflects the growth she has experienced in the last two years.
愛黛爾的《21》是她本人的第二張專輯，在2011年1月24日率先在英國發行。這張專輯偏鄉村音樂，而這樣的與第一張專輯有完全不同的轉變，居然是來自于她的司機。因為在美國環游時，愛黛爾聽得就是納什維爾音樂。而至于為什么專輯是叫“21”，則是因為她想告訴大家在這近兩年來，她在音樂中的成長。
Her debut album 19 was released in 2008. She composed all the songs in the record and “The themes are about romance at the age of 18 and 19.” she commented like so. But several songs especially Hometown Glory involves mature melody which is suitable for people of any age,

Adele is a rather talented girl. She boasted that she is a better poet rather than a reciter. So in her lyrics we can feel the sentimental side in her music. At the 51st Grammy Awards in 2009, Adele won awards in the categories of Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

Well back in her childhood, she began singing at age of four. Adele has cited the Spice Girls as a major influence in regards to her love and passion for music, stating that "they made me what I am today.” After moving to South London, she became interested in R&B and Adele's interest in soul was deepened with a visit to the music store.

She once expressed that she would like to be the center of life but, somehow, try to evade the trouble fame has brought to her. She hates much about the comments on her weight. Maybe those are the differences that made her special for she once cancelled her USA tour to be with her former boyfriend. Sometimes we just feel too confused to explain the distinguished singers’ distinctive behavior. Anyway, art for art’s sake, we just need to appreciate her works.
