1.bracelet n. 手鐲

如：She offered a reward for the return of her lost bracelet.
她為尋回遺失的手鐲提出以酬金答謝。

Is this bracelet genuine gold?
這個手鐲是純金的嗎？

2.hem vt. 縫邊，包圍

如：She braided the neckline, hem and cuffs of the dress.
她用穗帶裝飾連衣裙的領口、摺邊和袖口。

This skirt flares (out) at the hem.
這條裙子的下擺張得很大。

3.lengthen v. 加長，延長

如：The days started to lengthen in March.
白晝在三月里開始變長。

He lengthened the rope by tying another piece to it.
他又接上一段繩子，把原來的加長了。

4.show off 炫耀，賣弄

如：She likes to show off her fine clothes.
她喜歡炫耀她的精美衣服。

He wrote in that style just to show off.
這種文體寫文章，完全是為了賣弄文采。
