1.calculate v. 計算，估計，核算，計劃，認為

如：The scientists calculated when the spacecraft would reach the moon.
科學家推算出宇宙飛船抵達月球的時間。

The government has to calculate the likely effects on revenues of a big drop in the oil price.
政府必須估算出油價大幅度下降對財政收入可能產生的影響。

2.Dexterity n. 靈巧，機敏，手藝

如：Manual skill and dexterity in the execution of tricks; sleight of hand.
手法敏捷變戲法時手法的熟練和敏捷; 戲法

The negotiations will call for considerable dexterity.
進行這些談判需要相當圓滑的手腕。

3.layout n. 布局，安排，設計

如：Please fax me the layout for the new catalogue.

4.memorize v. 記住，記錄，記下

如：If you memorize a poem, you can say it without looking at a book.
你若記住一首詩，不看書就能脫口而出。

She can memorize facts very quickly.
她能很快記住許多資料。

An actor must be able to memorize his lines.
演員須善於熟記臺詞。
