1.stride n. 步伐，一大步，大步走，進(jìn)步

如：She found the job difficult at first, but now she's really getting into her stride.
起初她覺得這工作很難，但現(xiàn)在已駕輕就熟了。

Some people find retiring difficult, but he has taken it all in his stride.
有些人感到退休生活很艱難，但他輕而易舉地適應(yīng)了。

2.gossip vi. 散播流言蜚語

如：She loves to gossip to her neighbors.

3.Engage v. 答應(yīng)，預(yù)定，使忙碌，雇傭，訂婚

如：Politicians should not engage in business affairs that might affect their political judgement.
政治家不應(yīng)該參與那些可能會影響其政治判斷力的商業(yè)事務(wù)。

I engaged the clutch and the car moved forwards.
我踩下離合器，汽車便朝前開了。
