新年伊始,京津冀普降大雪,局地降暴雪。北京天津的降雪量為1951年以來同期最大。
1月2日至3日,北京、天津、河北、內蒙古、山東北部等地出現較大范圍降雪。北京和天津降雪量較大,降雪主要發生時段集中在2日夜間至3日白天,降雪量普遍有4~8毫米,部分地區降雪量有10~18毫米。其中,北京居庸關降雪量達到21.8毫米,懷柔18.5毫米。河北、天津等地局部地區出現大于10毫米的降雪。
北京和天津降雪量打破了1951年以來1月份日最大降雪量歷史記錄(北京日降雪量歷史極值為6.2毫米,出現在1989年1月6日;天津日降雪量歷史極值為6.6毫米,出現在1997年1月4日)。
Part of N. China sees largest amount of snowfall in 59 years
China's Central Meteorological Station says, Beijing and Tianjin saw the largest amount of snowfall since 1951, on Sunday.
Experts say the blizzard will move towards the southeast to Liaoning and Shandong Provinces, bringing more than 10 millimeters of snow. Meanwhile, a strong cold front will extend across northern and central China, sending temperatures down by 8 to 12 degrees Celsius.
Later in the week, temperatures in the north was forecasted to plummet to minus 20 to 32 degrees Celsius, while areas along the Yellow and Huaihe rivers are expected to drop to minus 10 to 18 degrees Celsius.
The CMS issued the first orange alert against the cold weather on Saturday, and a second on Sunday morning.
