第46屆臺灣金馬獎于11月28日晚在臺北縣縣政府大樓舉行頒獎典禮。《不能沒有你》擊敗一眾對手，獲得最佳影片、最佳導演、最佳原著劇本、年度臺灣杰出電影獎、觀眾票選最佳影片等五個獎項。

Taiwan director Leon Dai's harsh real-life drama, "Can't Live Without You," has won best feature at the Golden Horse Film Awards in Taipei. The awards ceremony is regarded as the Oscars of the Chinese-language film industry. Mainland actors and actresses also won recognition, receiving a series of titles.

Beauties, sparkling jewelry, and the red carpet treatment are always central to award ceremonies.

Maggie Cheung's return to Taiwan after a nine-year hiatus stole much of the spotlight.

White gowns, black dresses, and different outfits all contributed to the same elegant and cheerful atmosphere.

The actors took on a more subtle look, choosing black or gray suits.

But the biggest winner of them all was the real-life drama "Can't Live Without You."

The movie won best feature, while the film's director Leon Dai from Taiwan, won best director.

Leon Dai, winner of Best Director, said, "We were nominated for eight categories and getting the viewer's award, for a team like us, starting from scratch on the first day until the last day, I think it is an incredible recognition."

The black-and-white movie, based on a true story, follows a lone father from the working-class southern Taiwan port city of Kaohsiung in a fight against the local authority to get his daughter into school. Unsuccessful and clinging to his beloved daughter, he threatens to jump off a bridge.

Li Bingbing, from the mainland took the best actress award for her performance in "The Message," an espionage movie.

And the best actor prize went for the first time to two people. Huang Bo from the mainland's war-themed black comedy "Cow" and Nick Cheung in the Hong Kong action movie "The Beast Stalker" took top honors.
