Watt: It's me. What can I do for you?
Susan:I have come at your invitation for an interview. Nice to meet you, Mr. Watt.

Susan: My name is Susan Li.
Watt: OK, Miss Li, we have received your letter in answer to our advertisement. I would like to talk with you regarding your qualifications for this position.
Susan:I am very happy that I am qualified for interview.
講解：
1. 對話中Susan來參加面試，人事經理接待了她。人事經理是the personnel manager。Susan開始問道，May I see Mr. John Watt, the personnel manager? 我想見人事經理。May I...? ，是非?？蜌獾膯栐挿绞?。Susan問的人正是人事經理，It's me. What can I do for you? 我就是，有什么事情嗎？
2. Susan回答I have come at your invitation for an interview. 我是應你們的要求來面試的。at one's invitation，在某人的邀請下。例如：He came to my birthday party at my mother's invitation. 我母親邀請他來參加我的生日舞會。
3. 兩個人互相打過了招呼。May I have your name? 直譯就是“我可以知道你的名字嗎？”是很客氣的問法。we have received your letter in answer to our advertisement. 我們已經收到您回復招聘廣告的信函了。這里面應該包括了簡歷。
4. be qualified for something或者是be qualified to do something，有資格做某事。例如：You're not qualified to be a doctor. 你沒有做醫生的資格。

講解：
1. 這段對話的內容和上段對話是一樣的，只是換了一種說法，例如：I'm for an interview as requested. 我是應約來此面試的。就跟上面的I have come at your invitation for an interview.是一個意思。
2. 人事經理說We have received your letter and resume , and we thought we would like to ask you to come here for an interview. 跟上面對話中的說法也大概一致，只不過這種說法更加簡單明了。
3. It is a great pleasure for me to have this opportunity for interview.很榮幸能有機會參加面試。

1. I've come to apply for the position as office clerk. 我是來參加辦公室職員面試的。the manager of Human resources Department跟上面的personnel manager一樣，是“人事經理”的意思。
2. May I ask your name? 就是May I have your name? 是一種客氣的詢問名字的句式。其實大家可以看出來，開始面試的時候，不用說太復雜的話，只把自己的來意表達清楚就可以了。但是態度一定要友好謙遜，給人一個良好的第一印象，才會愉快的進行后面的對話。下面是開場白里經常用到的一些單詞和表達方式。 nterviewer n. 主試人

Snow: Would you tell me what educational background you have?
Peter: Yes. I graduated from middle school in 1986, then I entered Shanghai Polytechnics. I graduated in 1992 with a B.S.degree.
Snow: What department did you study in?
Peter: I was in Department of Physics.
Snow: How were your scores at college?
Peter: They were all excellent.
Snow: What course did you like best?
Peter: I was very interested in business Management. And I think it's very useful for my present work.
Snow: How are you getting on with your studies?
Peter: I'm doing well at school.
Snow: Which subject are you least interested in?
Peter:I think it was Chinese History. Not because the subject was boring, but the large amount of material that have to be memorized. It left no room to appreciate the wisdom of great people in the past.
Snow: When and where did you receive your MBA degree?
Peter: I received my MBA degree from Beijing University in 1998.

1. 對話中Peter在回答面試官關于他教育情況的問題。educational background是指“教育背景”。一般呢都是從中學開始講起。graduate from，從某所學校畢業。我們都知道上大學是go to college，那現在enter這個詞也可以表示上某所大學。Peter說...then I entered Shanghai Polytechnics. 我就讀于上海工業大學，polytechnic college，多科性工學院，工學院。
2. Peter 說I graduated in 1992 with a B.S.degree.我1992年畢業并且獲得了理工學士學位。B.S.degree就是Bachelor of Science的開頭大寫字母縮寫，在寫簡歷的時候，一定要弄清楚自己學歷的英文標準翻譯。一般來說，bachelor，是學士學位，也就是國內的正規院校統招本科生，master，就是碩士學位，等等。最好向自己所在學校的有關部門詢問清楚。
3. What department did you study in? 你就讀哪一個系？I was in Department of Physics. 我讀的是物理系。這其實就相當于在問，What's your major? 你的專業是什么？可以回答：My major is Physics. 或者I major in Physics.都可以。
4. 面試官一般還會問你在大學的學習成績，How were your scores at college? 你的考試成績怎么樣？可以回答They were all excellent. 門門都是優秀. 或者概括地說I'm doing well at school我在學校成績很好。
5. 考官還會詢問你對學校里那些科目比較感興趣，因為這樣會從側面反應的能力傾向。Which subject are you least interested in? 你對哪一科最不感興趣？Peter說是中國歷史，因為有太多資料要背，以至于沒有任何時間去真正欣賞前人的智慧。
6. 關于這個問題你可以如實回答，當然，如果你很了解你面試的公司，說一些投其所好的科目也無傷大雅。Peter后來還獲得了MBA學位，MBA我想大家都比較熟悉了，就是工商管理碩士Master of Business Administration 的開頭大寫字母縮寫。receive a degree from，就是從某所學校獲得某種學位。

Peter: Yes, I was president of Student union of our university, and I joined the Communist Party of China in my junior year.
Snow: Did you get any honors or rewards at your university?
Peter: Yes, I got the university scholarship in 1994~1995 academic year, received the second－class reward in the Olympic Mathematics Competition of our province in 1993.
Snow: Great.Were you involved in any club activities at your university?
Peter: Yes, I was on the college basketball team.
Snow: What extracurricular activities did you usually take part in at your college?
Peter: I persisted in jogging every morning. I sometimes played table tennis and sometimes played basketball.

1. 對話中Peter在講述自己在大學里除了學習成績之外其它方面的表現情況，這對考官來說，也是一個值得參考的地方。a leading position，是指“領導職位”，Were you in a leading position when you were a college student? 你在大學的時候擔當過什么領導職位嗎？Peter說他在大學里擔任過學生會主席，并且還入了黨，應該是表現很積極了。president of Student union，學生會主席，join the Communist Party of China，加入中國共產黨。
2. Did you get any honors or rewards at your university? 是問在大學里有沒有獲得過任何獎勵。Peter回答說，I got the university scholarship in 1994~1995 academic year，我獲得了94-95學年的獎學金，scholarship，獎學金，那么full scholarship，就是全額獎學金。academic year，學年，一般包括兩個學期，學期是semester。
3. Peter還被問道Were you involved in any club activities at your university?在學校里參加過什么社團沒有，club activities在這里指大學里的社團活動，比如籃球隊比賽，象棋比賽等等。Peter說參加過籃球隊，I was on the college basketball team.參加某個球隊，用on這個介詞。
4. take part in extracurricular activities，參加課外活動。Peter還每天早上堅持慢跑，persist in doing something，堅持做某事。
Part 3 Work Experience 關于工作經驗

Snow: Have you got any experience in advertising?
Sam: Yes, I have been working in the Public Relation Section of a company in the past two years. I plan the advertising campaign and cooperate the work of artists and typographer. Sometimes I have to do the work of a specialist when there's something urgent.
Snow: Have you had any experience with computers?
Sam: Yes, I studied in a computer training program, and can process data through the computer.
Snow: That's fine. What about operating the fax and duplicators?
Sam: I can handle them without any trouble.
Snow: How often do you work overtime?
Sam: I worked overtime several times a month.
講解：
1. 對話中Sam在一家廣告公司進行面試，Have you got any experience in advertising? 你有沒有廣告方面的從業經驗？experience in / with something，某個方面的經驗。
2. 這時候你就可以把自己的工作經驗告訴考官，當然不要面面俱到，一定要挑跟你面試的工作緊密相關的方面來說，其它的可以不說或者一句話帶過。這就要求你在面試之前想好怎樣來條理清晰地陳述你的工作經驗，甚至還可以先打個草稿，為的就是做到心中有數。
3. 這里你可以順便提一下你的一些工作技能，比如，電腦操作等等。process data through the computer，用電腦處理各種數據。operating the fax and duplicators，操作傳真機和打印機。handle這個詞也很常用，指“處理，操作”。例如：I think I can handle it. 這件事我可以做好。
4. work overtime，加班，overtime這里做副詞，表示“超時地”，overtime也可以做名詞be on overtime，也表示“加班”。

Watt: How long have you been working there？
Ann: I have been working there since I left my previous employer in 1996.
Watt: How many employers have you worked for?
Ann: Three.
Watt: What work were you responsible for at your previous work unit？
Ann: I was responsible for advertising design.
講解：
1. Do you have any sales experience? 你有銷售經驗嗎？這也是詢問工作經驗的一個常用句式。work as 做什么樣的工作，例如：I worked as a tutor after school. 放學后我就去做家教。
2. What kind of work are you doing now? 你現在在做什么工作？Ann回答說在一家外貿公司做銷售人員?？脊儆謫柺鞘裁垂?，Where are you working ?這可不是問公司的地址，而是問公司的名稱。
3. How long have you been working there？你在那工作多久了？這里用的是現在完成進行時態，表示從過去到現在一直做某事，從來沒有間斷過。How many employers have you worked for? 你為幾個雇主工作過？其實也就是問你換過幾個工作了。
4. What work were you responsible for at your previous work unit？你在以前工作的部門具體負責什么工作？be responsible for something，負責某事，也就是做某項工作。previous work unit，以前的工作部門。
5. 一般這樣的問題據實回答就可以了，除非考官對你某方面的工作經驗感興趣，否則不要自己說起來沒完，要學會見機行事。
Part 4 Reasons for Leaving 關于辭職的原因

Snow: What position have you held before?
Ben: I have been a salesman. But now, I can do public relations.
Snow: How many places have you worked altogether?
Ben: Three.
Snow: Would you give me a general description of your present job?
Ben: I am in charge of the trading department, handling invoice, shipping bills and computing freight costs.
Snow: What made you decide to change your job?
Peter: I am working in a small company where further promotion is impossible, so I decided to change my job. I'd like to find a job which is more challenging.
講解：
1.What position have you held before? 就是“你以前是做什么工作的”。hold a certain position，“做某個職位”。
2. I can do public relations，可以做公關工作。表示“做某種工作”，就在do后面加上職位的名稱就可以了。
3. How many places have you worked altogether? 你以前一共在幾個地方工作過？也就是問你已經換過幾份工作了？
4. Would you give me a general description of your present job? 你能描述你一下你現在的工作嗎？也就是想了解一下你現在的工作狀況。
5. Ben把自己的工作簡單地描述了一下，主要是負責了哪些事情，這是考官最想聽到的，不用面面俱到，be in charge of something，負責某事，也可以說be responsible for something.
6. Would you give me a general description of your present job? 那你為什么要辭職呢？Ben回答說現在的公司沒有什么晉升的機會了，他希望找一份更加有挑戰性的工作。陳述你辭職的原因的時候，只要說出最主要原因就可以了，千萬不要把以前公司的所有缺點意義羅列，特別是不要說以前上司和同事的壞話，這樣會給考官留下非常不好的印象。
